OSOS was envisioned to be an incubator of exploration and invention, an accelerator of innovation, and promoting Open Schooling. OSOS leaders were tasked with setting a vision for creating learning experiences that provided the right tools and support for all learners to thrive. Teachers were viewed as collaborators in learning, continuously seeking new knowledge and acquiring new skills alongside their students.
OSOS made vital contributions to communities, students’ projects that met real needs were presented publicly and drew upon local expertise and experience. OSOS environment fostered collaboration, and mentoring, and provided opportunities for learners to understand their place in the world.
